We wanted to confront people with the impact that short-haul flights have on the climate. We used Polar Bears because they’re a well understood symbol of the effect that climate change is having on the natural world

just a question, not to sound like i’m picking faults with this ad, but a general question:
what would cause more greenhouse gas, the people on the flight, or the same people if they chose to drive their greenhouse gas producing cars that distance.
it just seems like, to me, all those people taking one vehicle would be better than all those people taking individual vehicles.
but obviously i could be mistaken. can anyone direct me to somewhere that’d show me stats comparing average greenhouse emissions of a car vs. that of an aeroplane (divided by the number of passengers)? that’d be a useful point for this argument don’t you think?
Interesting point. I have disgusted the same thing with some folks and I totally agree. But in reality is not the same to change the thinking and the mindset of individuals but rather make them feel guilt of some sort to start changing their thinking (if that make sense).
Anyway, the spot is strong, despite the obvious PR aims.
You know, it’s hip to be “green” nowadays.
